Also known as "Ilha de Faro", this stretch of area is part of the Peninsula do Ancão, which delimits Ria Formosa to Poor.
Or road access is through the narrow bridge that crosses Ria Formosa. Despite the urban occupation and the intense tourist use during or Verão, the extreme nascent and poorer areas of the summer buildings are replaced by the picturesque houses, two fishermen and shellfish and, gradually, the dunes and or sapal are dominating the landscape. To be born, it is possible to do a Natureza Tour on a wooden pass that runs through the dune cordon até perto da Barrinha (Barra de S. Luís).
It is possible to face the sandy cordão turned north, for a canal of Ria Formosa, or for the narrow area and it is occupied by many embarcações.
A use of this water plane for the practice of nautical sports and de facto intense (jetski, windsurf, sailing, etc.). The quality of the water is kept oily, since the Ria Formosa has water and is completely renewed with each cycle of water. A view and privileged: on a mountain range and on a city of Faro enquadrada pela ria.
Tidy parking, with various support equipment (restaurants, WC) and surveillance during the seaside season. During or seeing it, it is still possible to visit the beach by boat, starting from Faro (cais da Porta do Sol).
Interminável and popular beach on the peninsula of Ilha de Faro, starting from Faro by a ponte de uma faixa. You can go west to Vilamoura.
