CampoReal Golf & Nature is a course designed by Donald Steel and built in the heart of a quality development that occupies 80 hectares between vineyards, vegetable gardens and historic farms at the gates of Torres Vedras.
The CampoReal course is a real challenge for professionals and amateurs alike. It has four 'par 5', ten 'par 4' and four 'par 3', for a par 72 with 6009 meters of white marks and 4746 of red marks.
The countryside is beautiful for its design and the surrounding landscape, although the suggestion is to play buggy or electric trolley.
Donald Steel deployed the field on two hills and Holes 1 and 2 are virtually the only plans between the two hills.
Most fairways are narrow and require precise shots while the greens are excellent but also narrow and long, and it is preferable in some cases to be short than to run the risk of the ball passing the green and losing a good result.
Field officials consider holes 6, 7 and 8 as CampoReal's 'Amen Corner', and for some reason they will often be decisive between triumph and a secondary place. Hole 6 (par 4, stroke 1 with 362 yards of yellow) has a dog leg to the left and the exit ball must be in the elbow area, the largest, requiring attention to the iron or wood to be used. If you pass the fall area the ball slides into the bush and if you get short the angle to the green will be more difficult. Between the second shot and the green is a small valley and the green is well protected. Hole 7 (par 4, stroke 3 with 323 meters) is even more demanding. The fairway is narrow between the exit and the dog leg to the right, with regueira the dense vegetation to the left and tall grass to the right. The shot will have to be precise to the fairway and in the second shot to the green, narrow and long, it is preferable to take the risk to the right ...
Hole 8 is a beautiful par 3 with 194 meters, high tees, beautiful views to the green and the neighboring vineyards. Easy? It's stroke 5 and a little picky.
All holes have at least four tees of exit, but there are some that have more possibilities of exit.
