It is the only building from the late nineteenth century that still stands on La Playa Avenue, in the center of the city. Residence of the well-known Barrientos family of that old Medellín, today it is owned by the Municipality of Medellín.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. at 8:00 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 a.m. at 5:00 p.m.
It was restored in 2007 and became a children's library managed by Comfenalco, where workshops and reading promotion for boys and girls in the city are held. This house, declared an Architectural Heritage of the city, is an urban landmark in Medellín
