It was declared a Nature Sanctuary in 2000. It covers 996 hectares in the Til Til sector in the Santiago region. At an altitude of 2,222 meters above sea level, according to the Military Geographic Institute, it is the fourth highest peak of the Central Cordillera (between the Petorca River and the Biobío River), preceded by the Morro Chache (2,338), the Altos de Cantillana (2,281) and the Picorete Hill (2,277).
El Roble Hill owes its name to the oak forests (Nothofagus macrocarpa). At your feet on the east side is the town of Caleu, and on the northwest side is the La Campana National Park.
For those who enjoy nature and sports, it is one of the highest hills of the coastal range. At the intersection, they will witness a beautiful oak forest, which gives the well-deserved name to the hill that houses it. The color of its leaves in the fall is also known, so its route becomes much more attractive. At the top of this hill is a privileged view of the Andes and the Pacific Ocean. This adventure awaits those intrepid hikers who want to face its top and enjoy this beautiful landscape.
