Created in 1967, the Colonial Family Museum is responsible for the preservation and preservation of the material culture of several Blumenau families. Interact with the community through guided tours and traveling exhibitions. It consists of a complex of three houses listed by the Historical Heritage of the State of Santa Catarina.
One of them dates from 1864, was the residence of the German merchant and consul in Blumenau, Victor Gaertner.
The second house, from 1920, was the home of Reinoldo Gaertner, grandson of the colony's founder, Hermann Blumenau. In the house (early twentieth century), are exhibited in thematic rooms, various collections (indigenous objects, musical instruments, means of transport and machines of local industry) donated by the community.
Next door is the third house from 1858, the oldest residence in the Itajaí Valley region. There lived the German immigrant Hermann Wendeburg, secretary and bookkeeper of the founder of the Cologne. This house is a reference of the administrative history of Colonia Blumenau. There are furniture and objects from the Schwartzer, Rohkohl and Dietrich families, residents of the residence.
Service from Tuesday to Friday, from 9 to 17h.
Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 am to 4 pm.
