Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland and, by its position, is also the northernmost capital of the world. During winter, the days last four hours and in summer the nights do not exist. The city is located at 64 ° 04 'north latitude, very close to the arctic circle, in an area rich in geysers.
It is Iceland's most populated city, with over sixty percent of the country's population, and an active commercial, political, industrial and cultural center, where political institutions, libraries, museums, universities, central offices are concentrated. (radio, television and print), theaters and orchestras, open-air swimming pools and sports stadiums, maritime and air infrastructure, public transport companies and factories, including fish.

Tourism
Tourism is a very important activity in Iceland. The country receives about one million tourists a year. Many of these tourists are looking for trecking, mountaineering, waterfalls, hot baths, scuba diving, spas ... Incidentally, the largest European glacier is there and it is very interesting as you see the tectonic plates split from North America and Eurasia. There is a place for these two plates to be seen from above sea level, it is in Thingvellir National Park, a few miles from Reykjavik.
Blue Lagoon - is a thermal and medicinal water lagoon much sought after by tourists. It is 39 kilometers from Reykjavik. It is a fun program; different. Go in the daylight.
Harpa Concert Hall - The conference and concert center, Harpa stands out for its ultra-modern design. From the same Danish architect who also built the Copenhagen Opera House.
Thingvellir National Park - to see the tectonic plate up close.

Gastronomy
Fish Market - try the mink whale sashimi which is a dark meat; when you eat it tastes a little red meat, but in the end it tastes like fish

Weather
Reykjavik is situated on the south-west bank of Iceland, in the Crina Bay. Reykjavik's coastal sector is characterized by the presence of numerous peninsulas, straits and small islands. Most of Reykjavik's city is on the Foca Lagoon (Seltjarnarnes) peninsula, but also a periphery has developed to the south of this peninsula. Thanks to the warm Gulf currents, Reykjavik has an average annual temperature of 5ºC and rarely drops below -10ºC. The average temperature in January is -4 ° C and in July 11.2 ° C.
