The Roman-Gothic elements in the rear wedges and the ribs of some vaults indicate the medieval origin.
Its main portal is considered to be one of the most beautiful Renaissance works of art (14th century) in the Algarve. This portal is dominated by the sculptural group of the Annunciation of the Virgin and the images of the apostles St. Peter and St. Paul.
In the interior deserve special reference the paintings of the chapels of the Souls, Calvary and Santo António and the nucleus of images of the centuries. XVII and XVIII, with emphasis on those of Our Lady of the Rosary and the Lord of Patience.
