The Mother Church of Our Lady of the Candeias, with its settlement in the XVI century fortification, reveals a markedly baroque style. Of rectangular plan, with face to face to the south, it enters a porch stuck in round arc and worked in white marble, with lintel and cut pediment, integrating the real arms of Portugal flanked by the cross of Avis, and by the Virgin and Child , on top.
