Formerly the residence of the Counts of Guarda, the building that currently houses the Cascais Town Hall is, along with the Solar dos Falcões, one of the most important manor houses in the city. The date of its construction is not known, however, it should not be removed from the mid-eighteenth century, although archaeological excavations carried out on the site have revealed an occupation dating back at least to the end of the fifteenth century.
The Palace of the Counts of Guarda is a palace located in the parish of Cascais, in the municipality of Cascais, district of Lisbon.
It is the building of the Paços do Concelho. It has been classified as Property of Municipal Interest, since the year 2006.
