The Stockholm City Hall is one of the prime examples of the nation's country-style building. It was designed by architect Ragnar Östberg. The town hall is made up of eight million bricks and its 106 meter high tower bears the Swedish national coat of arms with three crowns on top. Behind the sumptuous facade are offices and meeting places for politicians and officials, as well as magnificent party rooms and unique works of art. In the council hall (Radssalen) meets the Stockholm council. It is also the venue of the great Nobelfesten party. After dinner at the Blue Room (Bla hallen), Nobel Prize winners, royalty and guests dance in the Golden Room (Gyllene leaves) with its 18 million pieces of gold-plated mosaic.
It offers fantastic views of Stockholm. It is open every day from May to September from 9am to 4:15 pm.
