Its construction began on December 4, 1866 during the government of Manuel Ignacio Prado and modified in its original structure, the interior part over the years.

The main facade is made of ashlar stone with two medium towers and a dog is located between them, they say that it is the guardian of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, Patron of the town, whose party is celebrated on August 4 of each year.
